Introduced in 2016, the Industry Affiliate Program (IAP) is an important mechanism for engagement with ACEMS, allowing industry collaborators to connect with ACEMS without the binding long-term contracts required for Partner Organisations.

As an IAP member, the organisation can enjoy a range of benefits: being welcomed into the ACEMS network; receiving invitations for staff to attend the ACEMS Annual Retreat and other workshops and events, for networking and professional development; an annual research planning session with ACEMS academics; and eligibility to apply for ACEMS Industry Collaboration Support Scheme (ICSS) funding for collaborative projects with ACEMS members.

Overview for 2021

• ACEMS welcomed two new members to the IAP: Climate Friendly and Dingo Software. This grew the Program to a total of 11 Industry Affiliate Members, in addition to the Centre’s six Partner Organisations.
• Collaborations with our Industry Affiliate Members, as part of ACEMS’ Industry Affiliate Program, continued to strengthen. A range of projects involving ACEMS members and IAMs were active in 2021. For details, see various sections of this report including the Research Theme Reports, Case Studies and IAM pages below.
• The ICSS application approved in 2021 was for a new collaborative industry research project with Climate Friendly, and two of the other four active ICSS projects were also with IAMs.
